Grill Cook/Cashier Great Western Dining at [INSERT UNIVERSITY NAME AND LOCATION] is looking for a skilled Prep Cook/Cashier to prepare delicious meals.. An excellent prep cook must be able to follow instructions. They must be deft in moving around the kitchen and apt in multi-tasking. Experience in using various ingredients and cooking techniques is important. This position also includes ability to cashier as needed. The Cashier is responsible for operating the cash register or Point of Sale Station (POS), including cash and credit card transactions. Responsibilities: Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.) Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen Ensure all food and other items are stored properly Maintain a pleasant, kind, and welcoming attitude toward customers. Operates electronic cash register/POS, entering correct charges, collecting accurate amounts of money or debit/credit card payments and providing correct change to customers. Complete AM HACCP Logs. Prepare the dining room for the start of meal service. Clean & sanitize the dining rooms surfaces, equipment, workstations and all tables throughout all meal service. Assist in setting up meal stations with entre accompaniments or utensils. Maintain a clean and professional appearance Other duties as assigned Skills and Qualifications: Proven experience as prep cook Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods Previous cashiering experience is preferrable Ability to follow all sanitation procedures Ability to work in a team environment Very good communication skills We are an equal opportunity employer and welcome applications from all qualified individuals.
