We are looking for a skilled Grind Room Operator. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude and experience working with CNC machines. This role involves detecting and troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, performing mechanical changeovers and repairs, managing production schedules, and ensuring the smooth operation of all equipment.

- Strong electrical/mechanical background is a definite asset.
- Strong attention to detail and evaluative skills.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
- Ability to comprehend and troubleshoot mechanical systems.
- Solid math skills and understanding of geometry.
- Adjust, operate, and understand set-up of machines and tools in your area to produce various parts with specifications.
- Proficiency with measuring equipment, such as calipers, gauges, and micrometer.
- High school diploma or equivalent work experience
- Other training qualification in CNC Machining is an asset
- 2 years CNC machine experience in a manufacturing environment
- Past Mechanical experience
Responsibilities:
- Detect and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions or out-of-tolerance specifications using program changes to offsets.
- Perform complete mechanical changeovers and repairs on loading stations, nesting, grippers, and grind wheels using hand tools.
- Ensure changeover preparedness by locating and reviewing all required mechanical parts ahead of time.
- Manage daily production schedule execution and plan for the next 24 hours to ensure all required parts and batch records are ready and available.
- Perform and/or schedule repairs and preventive maintenance to maximize uptime, including filter changes, coolant pump outs, and daily inspections of critical parts.
- Document and collect process changes and deviations.
- Volunteer for overtime when required to solve complicated mechanical problems and ensure smooth operation for the next shifts.
- Maintain accurate inventory of consumables (filters, charcoal, silicone compounds, coolant, gripper pads) and create purchase requisitions as needed.
