SUMMARY Grinds and polishes work piece as specified by drawings, job orders or guidelines. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES Ability to grind and polish to engineering specifications. Ability to read blueprints efficiently and accurately. Ability to produce assigned work in allotted time. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Grinds and polishes to engineering specifications. Positions work piece manually by crane or forklift. Works from routing sheets and instructions. Removes sharp edges, burrs, pits and cracks using power grinders, sanders, needle-gun chipper. Uses bead blaster and sand blaster utilizing air supplied hood and clothing. Completes and scans work orders accurately for each job. Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner. Functions in a workplace of dignity and respect for all. Functions as a team member and to get along with others. Honors EEO guidelines and principles. Reports for work on time as scheduled and ready to perform. Performs other similar or related duties as directed, assigned or as necessary to accomplish the department’s objectives in an effective manner. The Grinder I is responsible for grinding and polishing work pieces according to engineering specifications. This includes operating various tools and equipment, completing work orders, and maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
