Description:
POSITIONSUMMARY: To aid Wheatsville in its mission to be the Friendliest Store in Town byproviding exceptional external and internal customer service to all shoppersand staff. To maintain a well-presented Packaged department. Efficiently managethe flow of goods from the suppliers to the shelves and supervise Packageddepartment staff.
ESSENTIALSKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Experience developing systems and procedures

- Ability to project an outgoing, friendly personality
- Communication skills: good listener, gives clear instructions
- Attention to detail, accuracy

- Regular, predictable attendance; flexibility in scheduling
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
DESIRED SKILLSAND EXPERIENCE:
- Supervisory experience in hiring, training, and evaluating
- Familiarity with natural foods preferred
- Prior forklift experience

Responsibilities:
POSITIONRESPONSIBILITIES:
I. Customerservice
· Ensures that all team membersare customer focused and demonstrating excellent customer service at all times
- Provide prompt, friendly customer service in the store and on the phone
- Help customers find items in the store
- Report customer suggestions, comments, and complaints to the appropriate Coordinator or Manager
- Explain co-op membership policies and benefits
- Record special orders and ensure that order forms are delivered to the appropriate Coordinator
II. DepartmentMaintenance
- Ensure that Packaged departments are fully stocked and rotated
- Oversee Clerks in stocking and cleaning for day and evening shifts
- Ensure that Clerks check off invoices and place damages or mis-picks in the assigned area
- Maintain retail and backstock areas for all Packaged departments in clean, orderly condition, meeting health department standards
- Coordinate storage of items to be returned to suppliers. Keep accurate records of slippage
- Maintain price guns, box cutters, hand trucks, carts, and other equipment in working condition.
- Participate in quarterly inventory counts
III. PersonnelManagement
- Interview and hire qualified applicants for Packaged positions
- Ensure that new hires receive on-the-job training
- Conduct and document performance evaluations
- Document performance issues and take corrective action as needed according to co-op policy
- Schedule hours for stockers within department budget and review payroll
· Recommend pay increases within department budgetand co-op pay scale
- Oversee schedule changes, swapped shifts, and subbing
- Organize Clerk meetings; attend Coordinator meetings as needed
- Ensure that stockers are informed of co-op policy changes
IV. ActiveParticipation in Open Book Management
· Participatesin Wheatcast
· Ownslines in Wheatcast and/or Packaged Cast
· Helpsto facilitate your department’s cast
· Attendsupervisor meetings
· Createsdepartmental cast environment that is engaging and inclusive
· Regularlytakes action items and sees them through to completion
· Recognizes ideas within castsand assigns action or parking lot items where appropriate
