Grocery Managers – New World Wanaka   New World Wanaka is looking for motivated and capable Grocery Managers to lead the day-to-day operations of our busy Grocery Department. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll help drive team performance, maintain high merchandising standards, and ensure our customers enjoy a top-quality shopping experience every time.   Whether you're currently in a leadership role and ready to take on a bigger challenge, or have solid grocery experience and are looking to step into leadership, this is a fantastic opportunity to grow your career in a supportive and rewarding workplace.   Key Responsibilities    Managing the daily operations of the Grocery Department Working closely alongside the team to ensure smooth and efficient workflows Help manage stock ordering, promotional planning, and inventory control Maintain high standards in merchandising, presentation, and product availability Assist with rostering and staff scheduling Build strong relationships with suppliers and team members Participate in stocktakes and reporting using in-store systems Provide excellent customer service and product knowledge   You will be able to demonstrate the following attributes:   Passionate about providing exceptional Customer Service Proven decision-making abilities Exceptional organisational, presentation and planning skills Interpersonal skills Attention to detail Excellent communication skills High level of integrity and honesty   The successful applicant will have:   A minimum of five years retail experience A minimum of five years customer service experience Tertiary education to bachelor or equivalent level Hands on experience with New Zealand Food safety and Health and Safety practices in a supermarket environment A good understanding of supermarket financial KPI’s Sound SAP and Excel capabilities Current forklift license or willing to obtain one   These are permanent full-time roles.  Remuneration will be between $28 - $32 per hour with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week.  You will need to be available in weekends.  Reporting to the Store Manager.  We are an Immigration Accredited employer.   Applications close 12th October 2025.
