Description Volante Farms in Needham, MA is a place for all seasons. As a fourth-generation family run farm, farm stand, and garden center it has over one hundred years in the community- specializing in homegrown and locally grown produce, ornamental and vegetable plants and seasonal decorations. More recently, several new departments were added as part of a large renovation. These include a locally sourced grocery department, butcher shop, seasonal ice cream stand and a still growing food service component including a deli, bakery, coffee shop, and two kitchens preparing food for retail sales; soups, salads, and sandwiches; catering for businesses and family events; pastries and desserts. We are looking for Grocery Stockers to join our growing team! The Grocery Stocker is responsible for assisting in and for performing all functions relating to the effective operation of the retail floor and basement grocery area. Stocks retail grocery displays, keeping them full at all times. Maintains back stock in an orderly and organized fashion. Prices products according to pricing as set forth by the Grocery, Wine and Beer Manager. Continually tracks and checks expiration dates, removing expired items immediately and disposing of them according to company procedure. Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods of time Ability to lift 60 pounds Must be at least 16 years of age
Responsibilities
The Grocery Stocker will be responsible for all functions related to the effective operation of the retail floor and basement grocery area, including stocking displays to keep them full at all times. This role also involves maintaining organized back stock and accurately pricing products according to management direction.
