Description Paws With A Cause® (PAWS) is looking to add to our team! We are looking to hire a Groomer who will be responsible for maintaining the dogs and cats on behalf of PAWS in a clean and healthy manner by bathing, grooming, trimming, teeth cleaning, and ear cleaning. The ideal candidate will love both dogs and people, willing to adapt, a hard worker, and a strong team player! This is a 40 hour per week hourly position. Base hours are Mon-Friday 8am-4:30pm (optional Monday-Thursday 7am - 5:30pm). Key Accountabilities Grooming of dogs Grooming supply inventory Position Summary. The groomer is responsible for maintaining the dogs and cats on behalf of PAWS in a clean and healthy manner by bathing, grooming, trimming, teeth cleaning, and ear cleaning. Essential Responsibilities Maintain a regular grooming schedule for all animals under PAWS care: bathing, combing, trimming, cleaning teeth and ears, and clipping nails Groom and prepare dogs for specific placements or client interaction Maintain and report out accurate grooming records including behavioral concerns; medical issues, and grooming interactions Acclimates dogs to the professional grooming process when living with a client with a disability who cannot groom the dogs themselves Design workflows and procedures to provide quality grooming so dogs always look appropriate for public access Engage, coordinate, and support volunteers in both direct and indirect grooming support roles Other duties as assigned Non-Essential Responsibilities Provide support and coverage in the Building Care Department upon request Support trainer assistant and trainers as needed- which may include dog enrichment, filming, etc. Supervision Received Specific Direction - Follows established work procedures. Receives periodic checks for performance. Refers unique questions/conditions to immediate supervisor Supervisory Responsibilities No supervisory responsibilities Requirements Education & Experience High School diploma or G.E.D equivalent Grooming School certification 3 or more years of professional grooming experience preferred Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Possess a working knowledge of the various tools and equipment needed to fulfill the requirements of the job, and the ability to certify on this equipment after training Ability to handle all sizes and breeds of PAWS animals, which could weigh in excess of 100lbs Basic proficiency in email, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Core competencies Safety Awareness: Ability to identify and correct conditions that affect employee safety and uphold safety standards outlined by safety management Customer Service: A desire to serve others by focusing efforts on listening and responding effectively to questions, providing services, and evaluating customer satisfaction.
