JOB SUMMARY:

Monitor and assist in construction, maintenance, repair, and use of features in the terrain parks, halfpipes, and other locations as instructed. Act as a resource for guests in regard to park etiquette education, skier/ rider flow, safety awareness and feature design. Supervise and schedule all Park Rangers and Grooming staff. This assistant will be responsible for managing all resources contained within the department, and for daily input for all park builds including nightly plans. . Serve as department leader when Freestyle Terrain Manager is absent.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proficient Skier/ Rider
  • Ability to Ski/ Ride all features in the parks
  • Familiarity with terrain park operations and theory
  • Ability to lift 75 pounds
  • Strong communications skills
  • Ability to handle guest service issues in a professional manner
  • Microsoft Word/ Excel experience
  • 3 year Supervisory Experience
  • 2-3 years snowcat experience, with a focus on building terrain park features
  • 1-2 years welding, general construction, and earth moving equipment experience
    The expected pay range is $29.00/hr - $37.44/hr. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.

Responsibilities
  • Assist Freestyle Terrain Manager with design and construction of progressive Freestyle Terrain (FT)
  • Assist Freestyle Terrain Manager with hiring , scheduling supervising and directing Terrain Park Rangers/ Grooming staff
  • Assist Freestyle Terrain Manager with payroll for staff in dept. 370 Terrain Parks
  • Fill the duties of Lead Builder (Snowcat) for the Carinthia Brand
  • Serve as the on the ground contact for all Marketing content. Including scheduling and executing day and night photo shoots.
  • Serve as the day of event coordinator for all major Carinthia Contests
  • Serve as department leader in absence of Freestyle Terrain Manager
  • Represent department at Mtn Ops Manager meetings, Snow Plan meetings, TEAM meetings, Safety Committee meetings, and other intracompany functions as required
  • Conduct and document weekly safety/service meetings and monthly facility inspections
  • Provide comprehensive and timely reporting of park openings, closings, builds, feature counts for Snow Reporting and other
  • Act as a liaison to facilitate communication and coordination between Carinthia Team Riders, Terrain Park staff, and Marketing team
  • Monitor web and social media presence, and communicate/coordinate with Marketing, to ensure timely and quality content updates
  • Install and maintain park signage, closures, jump markings and fencing
  • Inspect and assess all features in all parks prior to lifts opening
  • Provide and supervise daily maintenance of terrain features as necessary
  • Monitor use of terrain features, inspect and assess at regular intervals
  • Responsible for guest relations, education and awareness in all terrain parks
  • Assist with placement of manmade features
  • Monitor rescue channel and assist with traffic control during codes
  • Practice proper radio etiquette
  • Safely operate a snowmobile
  • Use shovels and rakes to move snow
  • Daily trash and debris pickup and removal
  • Ensure all department logs are accurate and up to date
  • Provide I.I. team with requested documents
  • Responsible for snow removal and surface treatment at Carinthia Lodge
  • Other duties as assigned by Freestyle Terrain Manager
