Description Join Our Team as a Grossing Technician! Ruffolo, Hooper & Associates, MD, PA (RHA), a leading hospital-based pathology group in the Tampa Bay area, is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Grossing Technician to join our growing laboratory team. The position is located at our Tampa General Hospital location and the anticipated schedule is 830AM-430PM. What You’ll Do Perform gross examination and dissection of surgical pathology specimens under the supervision of a pathologist or pathologists' assistant (PA). Accurately describe and record specimen characteristics using established laboratory protocols. Prepare specimens for histological processing. Ensure compliance with CAP, CLIA, and facility-specific standards. Collaborate with pathologists, pathologists’ assistants (PAs), and laboratory staff to support high-quality patient care. What We’re Looking For Prior experience as a Grossing Tech, Histotechnologist, or related laboratory role preferred. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standardized procedures. Requirements Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Medical Technology, or related field. 1+ years of grossing experience in a clinical or anatomic pathology lab setting required. Completion of a formal histotechnology or pathology technician program is preferred. Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality, safety, and compliance with CAP/CLIA standards. Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in specimen handling. Excellent interpersonal skills for interacting with hospital employees, pathologists and providers. Outstanding time management skills and ability to multitask and prioritize work.
