We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Ground Services Manager to lead and oversee ground operations at our St. Andrews Airport base.

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Ground Services Manager is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and customer-focused execution of all ground handling activities. This includes managing a team of ground staff, overseeing passenger and cargo handling, coordinating aircraft servicing, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and internal policies.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role, aviation experience is considered an asset.
  • Strong understanding of Transport Canada and aviation safety regulations.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Experience working in northern or remote aviation environments is an asset.
  • Comfortable working in a physically active and fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and aviation operations systems.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license required (airside license an asset).
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
Responsibilities
  • Supervise and lead daily ground operations, including passenger baggage handling, cargo loading, fueling coordination, aircraft towing, and snow removal.
  • Ensure all activities are conducted in compliance with Transport Canada regulations, company policies, and safety protocols.
  • Manage ground crew scheduling, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and excellent customer service.
  • Coordinate with flight crews, dispatch, maintenance, and customer service to ensure efficient and timely aircraft turnarounds.
  • Oversee proper documentation and handling of cargo, freight, and dangerous goods (where applicable).
  • Respond to operational challenges, including weather-related delays and equipment issues, with prompt and effective decision-making.
  • Monitor and maintain ground support equipment, ensuring availability and compliance.
  • Prepare operational reports and provide input on process improvements and cost control.
