Description The Grounds Attendant is responsible for assuring that the park is kept clean by sweeping water from midways and other park locations, keeping the midways and exterior areas of the park clean of debris, emptying and replacing park trash cans, cleaning park trash cans, cleaning and papering picnic tables, and any other tasks assigned by management. This position is seasonal. Seasonal employees perform their work at certain seasons and periods of the year. Their work, by its nature, is not continuous nor is it carried on throughout the year. A seasonal employee who is employed at the conclusion of the season will be terminated. Requirements Able to stand and/or walk for up to eight (8) hours. Able to move equipment which would include pushing, pulling, bending and lifting. Able to walk quickly to/from job locations up to one (1) mile distance. Able to regularly lift and/or move up to 90 pounds. Able to perform work duties outdoors in varying weather conditions prevalent at the time. Must be able to work effectively independently as well as with a group. Must be able to lift heavy trash bags, place the bags in a large trash cart, push and/or pull the heavy (full) trash cart to the garbage compactor locations, load the cart onto the dump platform and empty the cart in accordance with operating policies and procedures. Shift times will vary depending on the need of the department, however most shifts will be in the morning/afternoon.
Responsibilities
The Grounds Attendant is responsible for keeping the park clean by performing tasks such as sweeping, emptying trash cans, and cleaning picnic tables. Additional tasks may be assigned by management as needed.
