JOB SUMMARY

The Grounds Maintenance Team Leader plays a pivotal role in overseeing and coordinating maintenance activities to ensure the efficient operation of facilities and landscapes. This position requires a hands-on approach, combining leadership responsibilities with practical maintenance skills. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in landscape maintenance, mechanical knowledge, and experience with various tools and equipment.

SKILLS

  • Proficient in landscape maintenance techniques and practices.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot various equipment issues.
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, and heavy machinery such as excavators.
  • Familiarity with irrigation systems and their maintenance requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise the maintenance team in daily operations, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
  • Conduct regular inspections of landscapes and facilities to identify maintenance needs and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Oversee landscape maintenance activities, including gardening, horticulture, and irrigation systems management.
  • Utilise mechanical knowledge to perform repairs and maintenance on equipment, including power tools and excavators.
  • Train team members on the proper use of hand tools, power tools, and machinery to enhance their skills and safety awareness.
  • Collaborate with other departments to coordinate construction projects and ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, and inventory of supplies.
