The Grounds & Turf Wicket Officer is responsible for safely and effectively delivering both planned and responsive maintenance across turf wickets, grounds, gardens, play areas, car parks, and other outdoor spaces across Carey Baptist Grammar School campuses. Reporting to the Grounds Supervisor – Bulleen, this role suits someone who enjoys hands-on, outdoor work and thrives in a collaborative team environment. While primarily based at the Bulleen campus, the role will also provide support across other campuses as required. This is a permanent, full-time position. With five extraordinary campuses, we create inspiring spaces where learning thrives and where new opportunities await enthusiastic educators. * Kew Learning Campus – ELC – Year 12 * Dovale Learning Campus – ELC – Year 6 * Bulleen Sports Complex * Outdoor Education Site - Banksia Peninsula * Experiential Learning Facility - Mission Beach in Far North Queensland Carey offers a nurturing workplace where innovation is celebrated and both personal and professional growth is actively supported.  The role: * Assist in the preparation and maintenance of high-quality turf wickets and grounds * Maintain grassed areas, gardens, and playground spaces (including soft fall surfaces) * Support the setup of school sporting activities and events * Assist with machinery, building, and general maintenance tasks * Collaborate with staff and external stakeholders, undertaking other duties as required What do I need to succeed? * Qualification (or working towards a qualification) in Turf Management, Horticulture or equivalent relevant experience  * Previous experience in the practices and processes involved in annual planning and delivery of turf wicket and sports field cultural/nutrition programs * Grounds and turf wicket maintenance experience within major facilities is highly desirable * Experience in the safe operation of plant and equipment required to undertake all maintenance tasks * Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and the sun * Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, bend, squat, kneel, and stand for extended periods A valid Employee Working With Children Check is a requirement of employment in this position.
