Groundskeeper/Custodian Location: Osage Beach, Missouri Type: Part-time (20 hours per week) Pay: $16.50 per hour Start Date: June 1, 2026 or later   Job Summary: The Groundskeeper/Custodian is responsible for keeping facilities and outdoor areas clean, safe, and well‑maintained.  This position performs routine grounds maintenance, cleaning, and basic building upkeep, including basic repairs, and grounds care with a proactive approach to facility upkeep.    Essential Functions * Perform lawn care including mowing, trimming, edging, and weed eating * Plant, water, weed, and prune flowers, shrubs, and trees * Remove leaves, debris, and litter from outdoor areas * Maintain walkways, parking lots, and outdoor common spaces * Operate and maintain landscaping equipment (mowers, trimmers, blowers) * Perform seasonal tasks such as snow removal (less than 2 inches) and salting walkways * Perform basic maintenance tasks (changing light bulbs, minor repairs) * Identify and report larger repair needs to supervisors or contractors * Inspect and maintain safety equipment (exit signs, fire extinguishers, alarms—reporting issues as needed) * Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, offices, and common areas * Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain floors throughout the facility * Empty trash and restock restroom and cleaning supplies * Dust surfaces, furniture, vents, and fixtures * Keep high‑traffic areas presentable * Clean windows, mirrors, and glass doors * Restock supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper   Required Core Competencies and Professional Experience: * Ability to fluently read, write, and understand the English language. * Proficiency with the following, but not limited to:  active listening; speaking; writing; critical thinking; judgment and decision making; monitoring; reading comprehension; time management; coordination; and management of personnel resources. * Working knowledge of web-based technologies, including database systems. * Practice superior customer service. * Ability to work independently and in a team environment, with or without direct supervision. * Excellent communication, interpersonal, customer service, and organizational skills. * Successfully complete all Human Resources, Technology Services, and other departmental annual training as needed. * Display respect and civility to all constituencies regardless of method of communication. * Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned. * Attend work timely and on a regular basis during the established hours of operation; work additional hours as business necessitates.
