POSITION SUMMARY Golf Grounds Maintenance/ Groundskeeper (I, II, III) The Golf Course Groundskeeper performs a combination of duties as directed to maintain grounds and turf on Golf Course in optimum condition, including operating all types of motorized mowing equipment or the ability to properly operate specialized equipment to cut a variety of areas of turf grass, identification of stressed and diseased areas, identification of irrigation problem areas, and preventative maintenance on all equipment. The ideal Candidate must be able to: • Performs maintenance on greens such as spreading of topdressing materials, aerate and spike greens, verti-cut tees, greens, fairways and other turf areas. • Precision mow greens, tees, collars, aprons, fairways, approaches to greens, and rough areas. • Assist in production work, such as construction of new greens, tees and fairways; grades and prepares soil base; lays sod; and sands tees, greens and fairways. Plant native vegetation and prune trees, and weed beds. • Safely operate mechanical equipment as needed to include sod cutter, spray rig, fertilizer spreaders and other light or heavy equipment as directed. • Safely operate tractors and attachments, aerifiers for greens, tees, and fairways, topdressing equipment on selected turf grasses. • Perform basic preventive maintenance on equipment as directed • 5 years experience at a luxury tier golf course required. Monitor property grounds to ensure a pleasant appearance. Maintain lawns by mowing, edging, raking leaves, and performing other lawn maintenance functions. Wash, clean, and re-fuel all equipment after use. Maintain flower beds, baskets, and boxes by watering, removing weeds, trimming, and performing other maintenance. Remove and bag trash from all exterior trash cans. Maintain the appearance of fountains, planters, or other grounds features by cleaning, replacing or making repairs. Maintain the appearance and safety of sidewalks, driveways, cart paths, or parking lots by filling in cracks, holes, and making other repairs. Operate tractors, trucks, or utility vehicles to transport equipment and supplies. Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report defective equipment, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; complete safety training and certifications. Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets. Support team to reach common goals. Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines (e.g., to identify defects). Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance. Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. Move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces as well as up and down ladders. Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Removal of snow and maintenance of ice management (if applicable). Continual use of manual dexterity and gross motor skills with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity and fine motor skills. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. Related Work Experience: 1-3 years related work experience. Supervisory Experience: No supervisory experience.
