Full job description is listed below:     Groundskeeper   Position Summary   The Groundskeeper plays a key role in maintaining the appearance, safety, and functionality of multiple residential and recreational properties. This position supports the long-term value and resident experience of the community by ensuring grounds, landscaping, and outdoor amenities are well maintained, safe, and visually appealing.   The Groundskeeper performs routine landscape maintenance, supports preventative care of property infrastructure, and assists with seasonal and operational needs such as snow removal, pool upkeep, and sewer treatment plant support. This role requires a proactive mindset, attention to detail, and pride in maintaining high standards across multiple properties. ________________________________________ Classification • Non-Exempt • Pay Range: $18.00 – $22.00 per hour plus incentives ________________________________________ Supervisory Responsibilities None ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities   Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:   Grounds and Landscape Maintenance • Maintain landscaped areas through mowing, trimming, edging, and debris removal to ensure properties remain clean, safe, and visually appealing. • Trim bushes, shrubs, and hedges to maintain healthy growth and a professional appearance. • Prepare soil and plant flowers, shrubs, trees, and other landscaping elements to enhance property aesthetics. • Monitor landscaping conditions and proactively report maintenance needs or improvement opportunities.   Property Appearance & Asset Care • Remove trash and debris from common areas to maintain a clean and welcoming environment. • Support property upkeep initiatives that protect and enhance the value of company assets. • Assist with tree maintenance including pruning, trimming, and removal when necessary.   Seasonal Property Maintenance • Perform snow and ice removal including shoveling sidewalks, entryways, and steps to ensure resident and visitor safety. • Operate snow removal equipment such as snowblowers or plow trucks to maintain accessibility to roads, driveways, and parking areas.   Equipment Operation & Maintenance • Safely operate landscaping equipment including mowers, trimmers, hedge trimmers, leaf blowers, chainsaws, and other tools. • Perform routine inspection and basic maintenance of equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation. • Utilize specialized equipment such as bucket trucks for tree trimming when required.   Facility Support • Assist with basic maintenance and upkeep of the community pool. • Provide support for sewer treatment plant operations as directed by management.   Multi-Property Support • Maintain and service multiple properties throughout the Springfield, Brookline, and Rogersville areas. • Collaborate with maintenance and operations staff to support property improvement initiatives and operational needs.   Team Collaboration • Work cooperatively with supervisors and team members to complete assigned projects and respond to property needs. • Assist other departments when needed to support overall property operations. ________________________________________ Required Skills & Abilities • Ability to safely operate a variety of landscaping power equipment and hand tools. • Basic mechanical aptitude for routine equipment maintenance. • Ability to follow directions and complete tasks independently. • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship. • Ability to identify and report maintenance issues or potential safety concerns. • Strong work ethic with a team-oriented mindset. ________________________________________ Education & Experience • Minimum of 1 year of professional groundskeeping experience is required. ________________________________________ Physical Requirements • Ability to walk, stand, bend, kneel, stretch, push, and pull for extended periods. • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. • Ability to operate landscaping equipment safely. • Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.   Other Requirements • Valid driver's license required to operate company vehicles. • Must pass background check and drug screening to operate company vehicles. • Ability to operate company vehicles. ________________________________________ Reporting Structure This position reports to the Grounds Supervisor and Property Maintenance Supervisor and may receive work direction from other senior staff members.
