Position Title: Group Controller Reports To: Senior Finance Manager / Finance Director Purpose The Controller / Internal Auditor is responsible for overseeing all financial controllership, integration, and internal audit activities for their assigned Operating Group or region. This role acts as the embedded integration function, ensuring newly acquired Operating Companies are integrated effectively, financial records remain accurate, and internal controls operate in line with Banyan Software’s global standards. The role is pivotal to Banyan’s decentralized finance model—linking acquisition integration, accounting integrity, and internal audit execution within each group. Key Responsibilities Finance Integration & Handover Lead post-acquisition financial integration for newly acquired entities. Review, prepare, and post Opening Balance Sheet (OBS) and investment entries in NetSuite. Conduct Net Tangible Asset (NTA) audits within 60 days post-close, ensuring alignment with HQ methodology. Support Purchase Price Allocation (PPA) preparation in coordination with Finance, Tax, and Legal teams. Maintain comprehensive integration documentation and ensure smooth transition into BAU operations. Financial Controllership Manage day-to-day accounting and reporting for group legal entities. Ensure compliance with US GAAP, statutory reporting, and Banyan accounting policies. Oversee month-end close processes, reconciliations, and variance reviews. Support group-level budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. Maintain documentation for all balance sheet reconciliations and key control procedures. Internal Audit & Controls Execute the Global Internal Audit Plan established by the Corporate Controller. Perform testing of internal controls, policy compliance, and process effectiveness. Identify control weaknesses, recommend corrective actions, and track remediation progress. Conduct targeted audits focused on high-risk areas (e.g., revenue recognition, vendor payments, payroll, system access). Prepare detailed audit working papers and management reports. Collaboration & Governance Partner closely with Group Finance, M&A, and HQ Controllership to maintain alignment on policies and timelines. Participate in cross-functional integration meetings and audit review sessions. Share best practices and contribute to the refinement of SOPs and audit methodologies. Serve as the single point of contact for integration and audit matters within the assigned group. Qualifications CPA, CA, ACCA, or equivalent professional designation (required). 5 – 8 years of progressive experience in accounting, controllership, or internal audit (Manager roles 8 – 10 years). Strong understanding of US GAAP, consolidation principles, and internal control frameworks (e.g., COSO). Demonstrated experience in acquisition integrations, financial audits, or system transitions. Hands-on experience with NetSuite is a plus. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work independently across time zones and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
