    Deerwood Country Club is a community steeped in local history and pivotal to the development of Jacksonville. DCC is the first gated community in Florida and our golf course hosted the Greater Jacksonville Open, which later became The Players Championship. In 1975 the club was the site of landmark international treaty talks between President Gerald R. Ford and Egyptian President Anwar Sadat.
    Today, DCC continues to embrace its rich history and traditions as a premiere private equity country club. DCC features a 25,000-square foot clubhouse with dining and banquet facilities, an 18-hole championship golf course, twelve Har-Tru tennis courts, four pickleball courts and an award-winning tennis program. The Club also boasts a fitness center with children’s nursery and massage services, plus a junior Olympic-size, resort-style swimming pool with a swim team and summer camps.

Qualifications:

  • Strong interest in fitness and ability to work with members of all fitness levels
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to coach, motivate, and modify exercises appropriately
  • Minimum one year of experience as a personal trainer or group exercise instructor
  • Current Personal Training Certification (required)
  • Current CPR/AED Certification (required)
  • Computer proficiency and experience with point-of-sale systems
  • Outstanding customer service and phone etiquette
  • Friendly, outgoing personality with a commitment to hospitality and teamwork
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holiday
Responsibilities
  • Arrive on time, well-groomed, and in full uniform (including name tag)
  • Greet and interact with members in a friendly, professional manner
  • Learn and address members by their last name to foster a personalized experience
  • Lead engaging and creative group exercise classes
  • Provide customized personal training sessions and chart personalized fitness programs
  • Conduct fitness evaluations, workshops, and informational sessions
  • Recommend appropriate programs based on members’ specific needs and goals
  • Promote and schedule personal training sessions; bill and track sessions accurately
  • Assist members with workout routines, offer training advice and corrections, and act as a spotter when needed
  • Maintain proficiency on all equipment and safety features
  • Keep all fitness areas clean, organized, and well-stocked; provide towels to members
  • Perform opening and closing duties for the Fitness Desk
  • Answer phones professionally and enter member charges in the Club’s POS system
  • Promote all fitness programming including
  • Administer CPR and first aid when necessary
  • Ensure all Fitness Center rules and policies are followed
  • Contribute to a positive, collaborative, and fun team environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Fitness Director
