Part‑time role Evening hours required; specific schedule may vary based on department needs GENERAL DESCRIPTION   This is a responsible position which involves providing group services consistent with an approved curriculum within the knowledge skills and abilities of the facilitator. Duties include managing program group activities, following key service definitions, and adherence to documentation guidelines. Considerable effort is directed at maintaining compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements including accreditation and certification requirements. Direction is received from an administrative superior who reviews work through direct supervision, observation, and quality reports. The employee is expected to exercise considerable initiative and judgment in planning and carrying out assignments.  ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES  1. Work may include, but is not limited to, the following examples: 2. Planning, development and administration of group services designed to assist persons with substance use disorders. 3. Provides group services consistent with approved curriculum and/or key service definitions as assigned. 4. An ability to present didactic material in a manner that is understandable to consumers and maintains fidelity to the approved curriculum. 5. May be expected to conduct group therapy/counseling consistent with key service definitions and consistent with knowledge, skills, and abilities of the employee. 6. Documents services delivered consistent with policy and regulatory entities in a timely manner into the electronic health record as assigned. 7. Accurately reports attendance and participation in group services in the electronic health record. 8. Addresses all failed claims and failed activities in a timely manner. 9. Participates in conferences, training sessions and meetings related to areas of assigned responsibility. 10. All other duties as assigned. EXAMPLES OF KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES  * Thorough knowledge of therapeutic principles and practices applicable to work with persons suffering from substance use disorders * Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, standards and certification requirements pertaining to operation of substance use disorder treatment programs in the State of Missouri * Ability to develop, implement and administer treatment curriculums and services to achieve positive consumer and program outcomes * Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with agency officials, staff, associates, state and local officials EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS   * High school diploma or GED AND  * Two (2) years of successful work experience; AND  * Understanding of recovery process through academic training, relevant work, or personal recovery experience. Missouri Associate Alcohol Drug Counselor I or II preferred.    NECESSARY SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS  * All candidates will be required to submit to a background screening. No candidate may be considered for employment who is under the supervision of Federal, State, County or Municipal Corrections Department nor have any pending felony or misdemeanor charges other than minor traffic charges. * Driving may be required for this position. The successful candidate must have and remain in possession of a valid current driver’s license, automobile insurance, and be insurable under the agency’s motor vehicle insurance policy. * All candidates for employment must meet the established minimum qualifications for employment as identified by the applicable regulatory agencies.
