Competitive Pay Career Development Competitive Benefits & 401k Values: Integrity, Teamplay, 1% Better Each Day Position Summary Under supervision of the Clinical Director and/or Program Manager, the Group Facilitator is responsible for facilitating both topic and process groups related to substance abuse, mental health, and a variety of other issues relevant to client treatment and recovery. The Group Facilitator works with groups of clients to gain insight into their addictive behaviors and identify actions to promote a healthier, sober lifestyle. This may include exploring underlying emotional issues, trauma work, co-occurring disorders, grief and loss, cross-addictions, family dynamics, relationship issues, emotion regulation, anger management, coping skills etc. based on skills and qualifications and within scope of practice Essential Duties and Responsibilities This list is not intended to be all-inclusive. Additional duties may be assigned as needed. Facilitate both process and psychoeducational/topic groups related to substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions Prepare and deliver group curricula relevant to treatment topics and client needs Collaborate and communicate effectively with the multidisciplinary treatment team to support clinical goals Complete timely, thorough, and clinically appropriate group progress notes for each client, clearly documenting participation and medical necessity Coordinate and provide care that is safe, timely, effective, efficient, equitable, and patient-centered Communicate client needs to appropriate members of the care team and follow up as necessary Attend required clinical, treatment team, and administrative meetings Work collaboratively with clients, families, therapists, case managers, and referral sources to support high-quality care Assist with care coordination, information sharing, and case collaboration Promote quality, cost-effective interventions and positive treatment outcomes Accurately record client and case information, complete required documentation, and assist with reporting as needed Support the clinical team during crisis situations as appropriate Maintain active state license/registration/certification required for scope of practice Adhere to all organizational policies, professional standards, ethical guidelines, and procedures Complete all documentation in compliance with HIPAA, confidentiality, and accreditation requirements Provide services consistent with all federal, state, and local regulations and applicable accreditation standards Carry out additional responsibilities as delegated or assigned Qualifications Education High School Diploma or equivalent (required) College coursework and/or specialized training in substance use disorder counseling or mental health treatment (desired) Bachelor’s degree in a related behavioral health or human services field (preferred) Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations Current certification to provide substance use disorder counseling services in the state of operation (e.g., Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor or equivalent credential) CPR/First Aid/BLS certification (required or must be obtained upon hire) Group facilitators providing specialized topics without full certification must work under the supervision of a licensed or certified clinician Professional Experience At least one (1) year of experience working with individuals with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions, including group facilitation (preferred) Experience in a licensed and/or accredited treatment program (e.g., Joint Commission, CARF) (preferred) Experience working with 12-Step programs and community recovery resources (preferred) Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Strong understanding of group facilitation, counseling principles, and substance use disorder treatment approaches Knowledge of state and federal regulations governing substance use disorder treatment Excellent interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills Ability to work independently while recognizing when to seek guidance Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems Demonstrated empathy, compassion, and professionalism when working with clients Ability to maintain appropriate professional boundaries and objectivity Adaptable, detail-oriented, and positive team collaborator If you're ready to contribute to a mission-driven organization and be a catalyst for positive change, we'd love to hear from you!
