About this opportunity
The Financial Services & Control team is part of the Finance team providing high quality financial transactional services to all Service Areas in accordance with the Council’s vision and values. The team leads on providing effective financial systems and services across the Council, both procedural and IT based in order to ensure the Council is using systems to their optimum advantage. The team also provides advice regarding financial controls across the Council and is responsible for making payments, ensuring the correct receipt and recording of the Council’s income.
You will be joining a friendly, welcoming and supportive Finance team.
Who we are looking for…

You will lead the Financial Services & Control team. The main purpose of the role is:

  • ensure effective and timely payments are made, maximising debt recovery and income collection. Ensuring compliance with statutory, regulatory and audit requirements at all times.
  • Manage the day to day operations of the Council’s financial transactional services team to ensure that they operate in the most efficient way and deliver’s the maximum benefit to the council. Acting as the principal point of contact and support in relation to financial services across the Council.
  • Manage, motivate and support the development of staff within the Team
