THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Group Financial Controller to lead consolidated financial reporting and analysis across EDF RUK. This pivotal role provides critical insight to the Executive and Shareholder teams, ensuring robust compliance with reporting and statutory audit requirements. As the leader of the central finance team, you will coordinate with Business Unit finance leads, safeguarding the integrity of financial data and reporting, drive the monthly close process, and oversee planning, forecasting, and budgeting activities. This is a high-impact opportunity to shape the finance function of a rapidly growing business, helping to design best-in-class processes and invest in the systems and data needed to support EDF RUK’s ambitious growth.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
This is a high-impact leadership opportunity at the centre of our finance function responsible for delivering consolidated reporting for the whole of our UK & Ireland operations and providing insightful financial and performance reporting to the Executive Team and Shareholders.
As group financial controller you will have responsibility for the financial reporting and control of all entities across the UK and Ireland, maintaining effective systems and processes across multiple subsidiaries, equity stakes and on behalf of both our EDF shareholders and other partners.
You’ll lead the central finance team to ensure the integrity of financial data, drive a best-in-class monthly close process, and co-ordinate the financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting activities across the UK & Ireland group. Your work will directly support decision-making and performance improvement across EDF RUK&I.
As the key coordinator with Business Partnering Heads of Finance who are aligned to Technology Business Units (Onshore Wind, Offshore Wind, SSPW – Solar, Storage and Private Wire), you will provide secure, efficient core platforms, guarantee data quality and produce insightful financial and performance reporting to support business partnering activities.
As a strategic partner, you’ll shape the future of our finance systems and processes, lead our statutory audit and consolidation activities, and deliver accurate, insightful reporting. You’ll also manage our relationship with Finance Shared Services, optimise cashflow with shareholder treasury teams, and guide the design and implementation of key platforms like SAP and Anaplan.
This role offers the chance to make a lasting impact, developing scalable, efficient finance operations to support our ambitious growth — all while being part of a dynamic, collaborative leadership team committed to innovation, simplicity, and excellence.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BE GREAT AT THIS ROLE?
You’ll be an experienced, qualified accountant - ideally ACA with strong expertise in financial consolidation, reporting, analysis, and internal controls. You’ll have deep knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS, with hands-on experience preparing complex consolidations, statutory accounts and confidently applying accounting standards in practical settings.
You will have experience of working in or leading teams across multiple finance disciplines including Financial Control, Consolidation & Technical Accounting, Finance Operations (Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable), Treasury and FP&A.
A proven track record in leading FP&A functions within fast-paced, capital-intensive environments is desirable, ideally within the renewables or energy sectors. Your experience with advanced financial systems and tools will enable you to drive process improvements and enhance reporting capabilities.
You bring sharp numerical and analytical skills, combined with a proven ability to lead senior teams in a fast-growing, capital-intensive environment—ideally in renewables, energy, or construction. Experience driving transformative accounting system implementations and managing multiple teams to deliver high-quality results on tight deadlines will set you apart.
Excellent communication and influencing skills are essential, along with a track record of building and motivating high-performing teams. If you’re ready to lead finance through ambitious growth and complex challenges, this is your chance to make a real impact.
