Responsibilities

The Group Financial Controller is a critical leadership role that will work closely alongside the Chief Financial Officer and Head of FP&A.
As the Group Financial Controller, you will architect scalable systems, processes and controls to support the growth objectives of the Company. You will be responsible for the global accounting and reporting functions of Imagination Technologies under generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) issued by the International Accounting Standards Board, other regulatory and advisory organisations, e.g., Government and related Regulatory Agencies, and per Imagination Technologies’ financial policies and other appropriate financial management techniques and practices.
A qualified chartered accountant/certified public accountant, you will bring a proven track record as a Financial Controller or Group Financial Controller within a similar-sized company. You will have a track record of successfully leading and managing accounting and reporting organisations, implementing/maintaining high-quality systems and processes, and continuously developing the team to deliver high-quality, reliable operations that support the business and inspire confidence. You must be familiar with the required company auditing & filing processes, and will understand the rigour and quality of documentation required.

This is a highly visible role within the company, and you should be available to spend at least 3 days a week in the Kings Langley head office.

You will:

  • Lead the company’s Accounting and Reporting functions, ensuring they are fit for purpose. This includes the development of an appropriate team, systems, processes and policies
  • Ensure the accuracy, integrity and timeliness of financial reporting for the company, and ensure compliance with any relevant reporting standards, notably in the areas of
  • Capitalised development cost accounting
  • Revenue recognition relevant to the demands of the technology sector
  • Ensure that proper processes and controls are in place to ensure compliance with IFRS and internal policies and procedures
  • Implement and monitor internal controls and procedures for the maintenance of the company’s fiscal records, preparation of its financial reports and safeguarding of its assets
  • Plan and communicate the reporting cycle, executing it to first-class standards
  • Build a strong relationship with the company’s auditors and respond to any historic audit points to ensure they are mitigated
  • Ensure the preparation of correct documentation for the finance audit process and participate in the Audit Committee meetings, ensuring a good level of interaction with both the Audit Chair, the Committee, and the company’s auditors
  • Continuously develop the company’s accounting policies and procedures
  • Keep abreast of financial accounting and reporting updates to IFRS. Direct the design and monitor the performance of disclosure controls and internal controls over financial reporting
  • Lead and manage all Treasury activities for the Group
  • Lead tax planning activities for the Group to ensure the tax structure remains optimal and support the preparation and filing of any tax returns, including the management and payment of significant RDEC claims
  • Support the CFO and Board in any fundraising activities
  • Support acquisitions and integrations from an accounting perspective
  • Lead or engage with ad-hoc projects to further develop the finance organisation’s capability as required
