    My client is a fast growing retail group with 18 stores nationwide and a turnover exceeding €30 million. With continued expansion ahead, they are seeking a motivated and capable Group Financial Controller to join their Head Office in Swords.This is a newly created role reporting into the Finance Director.
    A key part of the role will be optimising their recently implemented Microsoft Business Central system, embedding process improvements, and streamlining reporting to support senior management in strategic decision making.
    This is a hands on opportunity to make a real impact, driving financial performance in a dynamic and expanding business while growing into senior finance leadership.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with 2-3 years PQE
  • Background in retail/ FMCG/ multi company set up highly desirable
  • Proven ability to manage and lead a small finance team.
  • Strong knowledge of accounts payable, reconciliations and multi-company reporting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Business Central and advanced Excel.
  • Strong organisational and interpersonal skills, able to guide and motivate a committed team.
  • Hands-on approach with a track record of delivering accurate monthly accounts and driving process improvements.
  • Excellent communication skills to partner effectively with senior management.
  • Ability to balance hands-on transactional work with oversight and improvements.
  • Full-time, on-site availability in Swords, Dublin.
Responsibilities

DUTIES:

  • Oversee day-to-day finance operations including management accounts, cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Prepare monthly and year-end financial reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Participate in the budgeting and forecasting process across the group
  • Provide actionable financial insights and reporting to support operational and strategic decisions
  • Collaborate with store managers and department heads to monitor and control costs
  • Work closely with external auditors and manage year-end audit process
  • Develop and enhance internal controls, financial systems, and procedures and manage the current finance team of 4.
  • Drive continuous improvement and automation within finance processes
  • Support stock control, margin analysis, and retail performance KPIs
