Upway purchases second-hand- ebikes, refurbishes them and sells them online through its websites. The company operates in France, Germany, Belgium, the United-States and the Netherlands. Upway is recruiting a motivated and experienced Group Operations Accountant. This is a central, hands-on role focused on building the accounting department's operational capacity, ensuring that our ledgers are accurate and exhaustive across all international operations, and providing a clear, auditable view of our financial data. What you will do: Manage the end-to-end processing of customer receipts (Cash Application) and supplier invoices (chase, receive, and book into our multi-entity ledgers), Conduct thorough review and audit of wires (bank payments) to external parties to ensure compliance and accuracy, Monitor, reconcile, and control Fixed Assets, inventory movements, and other critical balance sheet accounts. Verify the conformity of all accounting operations with both local regulations and the group's internal rules, Manage the preparation and submission of various tax returns (VAT, etc.) across the operating countries, Contribute to the structuring and documentation of financial processes to support our rapid international scaling. What you will need: Academic background: Accounting qualification, at least Bac+3 (or equivalent), Experience: A solid accounting experience, ideally in a start-up company or international environment, Language proficiency: fluency in English and French. German/ Dutch speaking could a plus but not required, Accounting: solid knowledge of accounting principles (local GAAP is essential), Soft Skills: rigorous attention to detail, strong organisational skills and excellent communication abilities to work effectively with both finance and non-finance teams.
