Responsibilities

ROLE OVERVIEW

  • In this role you will be responsible for defining, developing and driving a compelling brand strategy for Irish Life, and you will have the opportunity to lead a multi-award-winning marketing team and set the future direction of one of Ireland’s leading financial brands.
  • As a strategic leader, you will collaborate with key stakeholders to embed our brand positioning into marketing, CX, and corporate initiatives and ensure the brand is consistently presented across all touchpoints. You will oversee brand governance, advertising, sponsorships and media relations to maximise brand value and business growth.
  • In addition, you and your team will act as a Centre of Expertise for brand and marketing activities across the Irish Life Group and oversee the roster of marketing agencies and the measurement framework for all brand activity in the group.

MORE SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE

  • Develop and execute a long-term brand growth strategy aligned to our corporate Better Futures strategy, brand building best practice and customer insight
  • Be a brand leader, championing our brand purpose and a culture of marketing effectiveness in collaboration with marketing teams across the organisation. Manage our external agencies and creative partners to ensure brand excellence.
  • Leverage data, insights and customer trends to define and evolve Irish Life’s brand positioning, ensuring relevance, differentiation and emotional connection with consumers
  • Lead the development and implementation of advertising and marketing campaigns that drive awareness, engagement, preference and sales
  • Manage and promote our sponsorship and CSR partnerships to bring our brand to life for consumers
  • Grow our corporate reputation through the development of effective stakeholder narratives and media relations, and ensure crisis preparedness from a brand perspective, maintaining trust and credibility in challenging situations.
  • Lead brand governance to ensure consistency and effectiveness and maintain coherent and effective Irish Life brand identity across all relevant customer touchpoints.
  • Monitor brand health through continuous brand tracking and drive performance metrics for awareness, consideration, preference and engagement / leads
  • Provide leadership and strategic direction for the Brand Marketing team, modelling our values to build a growth culture, customer focus and ensuring brand and business KPIs are met.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THE ROLE

  • Experience at a senior marketing level, including brand strategy, advertising development, communications strategy across paid, owned and earned activities, corporate reputation and sponsorship management.
  • Ideally, experience working within the Insurance and/or Financial Services, or another regulated industry.
  • Extensive leadership experience managing a diverse team.
  • Commercially focused, with a track record of driving value thorough a market leading brand.
  • Deep understanding of branding principles and best practices, both B2C and B2B
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate a vision into actionable plans
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
