Description Summary: This person assists the Group Homes’ Manager to oversee 24 hour a day services for a caseload of consumers and essential staff, together with facility operations to enhance the lives of consumers residing at the Flower Creek Group Home or the Montana Avenue Group Home. This position reports to the Group Homes Manager. Exemption Status: Non-exempt Direct Reports: None Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Assists the Manager to plan and coordinate daily work schedules and responsibilities for staff assigned to the group homes. Works with Staff and Managers, to ensure timely PSP preparation, quality and functional goal planning and implementation for each person in services through the PSP process. Ensure and Coordinate people in services medical, dental and ancillary needs are met. Assists in the supervision and participation in the routine operations of each group home, to include client care, meal planning, grocery shopping, cooking, cleaning, etc. Records, charts and submits data as required. Ensure compliance with all organizational and state regulations pertaining to group home operations. Works with Managers to ensure orientation of new staff is completed within required time frames. Works with Managers to address personnel issues in a timely manner. Assists in completing initial or re-determination applications for financial assistance within 10 working days of receipt. Establish and maintain working relationships with families, guardians and advocates; with neighborhood residents, with co-workers and with representatives of public service agencies. Participate in a system of rapid response to emergency needs of individuals, including on call assignment. Maintain group homes in a clean and safe fashion, by establishing regular facility maintenance schedules, fire drills and follow and ensure compliance to corporate safety policies and procedures. Acts as safety person for assigned Group Homes. May be assigned to corporation’s Safety Committee. Works flexible schedule as directed by supervisor in order to accommodate the needs of the organization. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Required Minimum Qualifications: One year of experience working with adults with developmental disabilities, or similar field. Ability to successfully perform all responsibilities shown above. Ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders, including, but not limited to staff, consumers, administrators and community members. Ability to process information and effectively utilize necessary software. Ability to exhibit allegiance and fidelity to Achievements in any public situation. Possession of a current Montana driver’s license and ability to meet requirements in order to be covered by company vehicle insurance. Ability and willingness to work in harmony and conjunction with all other employees to ensure that company-wide needs are met. Job Demands: During a normal 8 hour shift, employee generally will be standing up and moving at least 80% of the time. Bending, lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling are common motions to be expected. Walking and working surfaces are normally even. Exposure to unpleasant sights, sounds, odors and physical aggression will be encountered. Ability to move or handle people or merchandise generally weighing 0 to 50 pounds. May occasionally be required to exert up to 100 pounds or more to assist with transfers and care of non-ambulatory individuals. Must ensure 85% (34 hours/week) fall under Direct Contact Duties and Responsibilities and 15% (6 hours/week) fall under Administrative Duties
