Description
Do you have flexibility in your schedule and strong problem-solving skills? Do you have a passion for helping individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities?  Look No Further!  The Arc of the Quad Cities Area has an opening for one Residential Supervisor for two group homes! The Arc's mission is to empower people with disabilities to believe in their own unique abilities and achieve their full potential by providing quality, innovative services that focus on advocacy, inclusion, independence, employment, meaningful community life, and personal happiness. This is a full-time, exempt role requiring 40 hours per week, with an initial schedule set from Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. We are seeking to fill two Residential Supervisor positions: one to manage a single home in Rock Island and the other to oversee two group homes in Moline. This role involves not just managing daily operations but also ensuring that the homes function smoothly and efficiently, with the individuals' needs first. The individual in this position will need to work at least one weekend day or night each month, as well as one late-night shift each week.  Flexibility is crucial for this role, as the supervisor will be on-call to address the home's needs.  To thrive in this position, candidates must recognize that it is not an office job; they will take on various roles, including Direct Support Professional (DSP), payroll, scheduling, grocery shopping, and more. Strong organizational skills and a sharp attention to detail are essential. These abilities are vital for effectively supervising staff, monitoring the overall condition and appearance of the assigned sites, and ensuring that high-quality services are consistently provided to individuals living in group homes. The ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities is key to fostering a positive and supportive environment for both staff and individuals.  This role requires on-call SOC duties and responding to calls from the house outside regular working hours. Candidates must be comfortable performing DSP tasks to fill gaps, such as when an employee is absent, during new-hire and on-going training, and in similar situations. This aspect of the job requires the candidate to be readily available to address any urgent issues or emergencies that may arise, ultimately benefiting the needs of the home and enhancing the lives of its residents. Qualifications:  1. Proof of High School Education is required; a BA or BS in human services is preferred. 2. A Current, Valid Driver's License with auto insurance is required for this position. 3. Ability to lift at least 50 pounds—to assist in lifting and transferring individuals weighing more than 100 lbs. 4. A minimum of one year of direct service experience in human services is required, and one year of supervisory experience is preferred.  5. Direct Service Provider certification in Illinois is preferred, or it must be obtained within 120 days of employment.  Please see the attached job description for more details regarding this position. "We are an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or veteran status."
