SUMMARY

We are seeking a Management Accountant to join our friendly Finance team. You will play a key role in supporting financial planning, analysis, and decision-making to improve the operational efficiency of care homes; collaborating closely with various departments to monitor and enhance the financial health of the organisation; providing financial insights and guidance to assist in optimising resources and managing budgets effectively; and contributing to the development and implementation of strategies to promote sustainable financial growth within the organisation.
This role is pivotal in ensuring the financial health of our care homes, contributing to our mission of delivering exceptional care and support to our residents.

Responsibilities
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly management accounts, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow forecasts. Ensure timely and accurate reporting to senior management.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts. Monitor performance against budgets and provide variance analysis.
  • Cost Analysis: Analyse costs and identify areas for improvement. Provide recommendations to enhance profitability and operational efficiency.
  • Financial Controls: Establish and maintain effective financial controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • General Ledger: Calculate and post monthly, accrued and deferred income; HO costs for recharging to Group; loan interest journals; inter-company journals.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Provide regular financial reports and analysis to departmental heads, aiding in strategic decision-making.
  • Performance Metrics: Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track financial performance and operational efficiency.
  • Support Audits: Assist with internal and external audits, ensuring all financial documentation is accurate and available.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with operational teams to provide financial insights and support for decision-making processes.
  • Ad Hoc Projects: Participate in special projects and initiatives to improve financial processes and reporting systems.
