WHO ARE YOU?

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager who can develop new vehicle products for heavy duty Volvo Trucks and Mack Trucks in an Agile and SAFe inspired set-up. Therefore, experience in an agile way of working is desired. You will be responsible to ensure we follow agile methodology for the Cab Engineering product streams to integrate new and innovative vehicle technologies in the marketplace.

You are relentless in your pursuit of ensuring customer success, you take initiative and have a desire for improvement. You will have proven experience in developing strong teams and maximizing each person’s contributions to the team. Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Mechatronic engineering, or related field
  • 8+ years of experience in Product Development within the automotive industry
  • Experience in Project management of large projects, specifically in an agile environment
  • Knowledge of Kanban Board, the Continuous Delivery Pipeline and Sprint planning
  • Prior experience working with Agile Release Train, PI planning and Scrum Master is preferred
  • Leadership experience as a manager with direct reports is preferred
  • Ability to build effective teams, maximizing each person’s contribution to achieve common goals
  • Effective communicator, able to provide a clear message and use compelling arguments to gain commitment
  • Can do-attitude and resilient, rebounding from setbacks and adversity when facing difficult situations
  • Accountable, well organized, analytical, business-focused, and holistic mind-set
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams, manage complex projects, and deliver results in afast-paced environment
  • Ability to travel to various locations, both domestically and internationally (up to 15%)

Preferred

  • Advanced degree or PMP certification
  • Experience in the automotive or heavy-duty truck sector
  • Strong technical knowledge and understanding of the market and applications

Responsibilities

As Group Manager for Product & Project Management Office (PMO), you will lead and serve a team of highly skilled and passionate project managers and engineers responsible for the development and execution of the product portfolio (projects/epics) and product/project quality activities.

As a manager you will be responsible for:

  • Lead Cab Engineering project team and collaborate with all other engineering departments and cross-functional stakeholders such as purchasing, production, sales and marketing to ensure seamless project execution on time and on budget.
  • Develop and lead our quality activities, both reactive and proactive
  • Provide leadership and guidance to project managers, quality engineers and engineers
  • Ensure the team has a strong customer focused mind-set and takes the product ownership for respective components and systems
  • Maintain strong relationships with local and global stakeholders
  • Managing budget and resources, developing competence and professional development to meet current and future needs
  • Identify potential risks related to our development plans and develop mitigation strategies
  • Provide regular updates to senior management on project status, including progress, challenges, and solutions
  • Contribute to strategic decision-making as a member of the Cab Engineering leadership team
  • Represent CabE in selected governance bodies at the executive level
  • Leading continuous improvement activities to always improve our way of working

In this position, you will report to the Chief Engineer in Greensboro and take an active part in the leadership team to contribute to the overall development of the department.
