  • Master’s degree in a scientific discipline (chemistry or chemistry and pharmaceutical technology/Pharmacy or biology/biotechnology, toxicology or others);
  • 3 years experience in a food manufacturing organization or food related business in a regulatory and/or quality assurance function;
  • Experience in ingredients/products compliance assessment;
  • Knowledge of EU food/food additive legislation (other non-EU countries, i.e. US, APAC, LATAM would be considered a plus);
  • Fluency in English and ideally also working knowledge of another EU language, i.e. French or German;
  • Strong interest in studying and learning diverse topics in the food legislation context;
  • High degree of organization and detail-oriented;
  • Ability to work in teams and to coordinate activities with other colleagues also located in other countries;
  • Capacity to communicate effectively at all levels.

Responsibilities

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

Within Group Regulatory Affairs Team, the new resource will work on various regulatory and scientific activities and projects in cooperation with other departments and will participate to trade associations activities. The person will also contribute and support the organization in relation to compliance and to the assessment of the impact on the business of new regulations.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Contribute to the assessment of the regulatory status of food additives and ingredients and to support their use in the category;
  • Monitor and assess opinions and guidelines issued by key leading food safety agencies (EFSA, BfR, etc.) and provide timely internal updates and recommendations;
  • Participate to trade associations activity at National/International level liaising with the manager and representing as needed the interests of the organization;
  • Monitor, interpret and report accordingly on product specific regulatory initiatives applicable to the confectionery industry and support in the development of positions and submissions;
  • Support activity on specific regulatory topics such as sustainability (i.e. EUDR);
  • Additional involvement in other regulatory activities and development of internal regulatory opinions and guidelines.
