Executive Summary
Role Title: Group Reporting Associate, IFRS 17 Reporting
Function: Actuarial Services
Location: Dublin, Ireland
Purpose of this role
The successful candidate will be a member of the Athora Group Actuarial Reporting team.
As a member of the team, you will form an integral part of the review and communication of the quarterly IFRS 17 results produced by subsidiaries within the Group. You will support the preparation of the Group’s IFRS Equity Analysis of Change and the development of an IFRS Operating Profit framework.
This is a unique position at the Group level that offers the exciting opportunity to gain exposure to IFRS 17 results originating from the Group’s variety of locations and products. In this role you will have the opportunity to engage with stakeholders at the Group and business unit level to ensure timely delivery of results to the Group. You may be asked to participate in projects in relation to IFRS 17 matters and may be required to support junior actuaries within the reporting team structure in the future.

Key Contribution Areas

  • Develop a good understanding of IFRS17 Reporting. Build your technical expertise so you can assist with methodology investigations and queries.
  • Analyse and review IFRS 17 results on a quarterly basis
  • Communicate IFRS 17 results and material drivers to business stakeholders
  • Contribute to the review and consolidation of the IFRS Equity Analysis of Change on a quarterly basis.
  • Be familiar with reporting processes so that you can provide additional support to all areas of the business or so you can provide cover to other team members, if needed.
  • Develop a working relationship with Athora’s business units and other stakeholders in Athora Group
  • Contribute towards the success of various Athora Group actuarial projects in an IFRS 17 capacity

  • Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and clearly

Functional or Technical Knowledge and Skill Required

  • Nearly or Newly Qualified Actuary with life insurance experience
  • Experience within a reporting, actuarial modelling or risk function desirable
  • Understanding of the IFRS17 reporting regime
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher with a focus on one or more of actuarial science, finance, or investment
  • Experience producing materials suitable for a senior audience
  • Advanced Technical Skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.)
