About the role
Benefact Group are looking for a Group Risk Manager to join our Gloucester office.
We have a team of four Group Risk Managers who collectively contribute to the effectiveness of the second-line of defence for both Benefact Group plc and Ecclesiastical Insurance Office plc. Working with colleagues in Actuarial Risk, the role will get involved in providing insight, advice, assurance and challenge across Risk Management, Internal Controls and PRA Compliance.
This is a permanent role with hybrid working (expectation of two days per week in the office). Full-Time, Part-time [& job-share] working arrangements could be available with very limited travel required.

What you’ll be doing
Responsible for technical development and maintenance of specific elements of the Group’s Risk Management Framework (e.g. Risk Appetite approach)
Responsible for acting as a business partner to specific Group Functions, Business Units & Major Changes across the Benefact Group (e.g. Group CFO Area)
Responsible for producing reporting and opinion papers for a Board and Senior Management audience as required (e.g. CRO Risk Report to Board)
Lead delivery of risk processes (both regular and ad hoc) to contribute to the delivery of the Risk Function mandate and/or ensure legal and regulatory compliance (e.g. ORSA Process, Annual Controls Assessment, Risk Refreshes)
Undertake research to understand emerging risk topics and themes to ensure appropriateness of the risk management practices of the Group (e.g. Impacts of Climate Change)
What you’ll need to have
Experience in Insurance or Financial Services Groups, especially in Risk & Controls, Operational Risk or Enterprise Risk roles
Solid risk management knowledge including expectations of regulators and a range of industry practices
Experience of writing effective Papers and Reports for use with Boards, Regulators and external audiences
Well practiced and structured approach to stakeholder management and building effective relationships
Demonstrable ability to lead projects and other programmes of work to a successful conclusion with proportionate governance and rigour
What makes you stand out
Relevant Risk Management qualifications (e.g. Cert or Dip IRM)
Working knowledge of PRA Rulebook and FCA SYSC expectations of insurers
Good level of intellectual capability with demonstrable curiosity and a desire to get to the core of an issue
