POSITION SUMMARY

The Glasgow Marriott Hotel is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Group Sales Executive to join our dynamic Sales and Events team. The Group Sales Executive plays a pivotal role in the end to end sales process for assigned group bookings and enquiries. The Group Sales Executive has ownership for the administration of contracted bedrooms on behalf of the hotel. Liaising with sales, events and revenue to support optimum pricing, group ceiling and inventory controls to drive profitable business. Is the key driver of group forecast accuracy for hotel.
The Group Sales Executive delivers an exceptional telephone sales experience and adheres to sales and event brand standards for enquiry handling pre and post event. Prepares all group documentation and coordinates with sales, hotel departments, and customer to ensure consistent, high level service throughout pre-event, event and post event phases of hotel event
Recognizes opportunities to maximize revenue opportunities by up-selling and offering enhancements to create outstanding experiences.
May be required to support with reactive sales.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a driven, organised and service-focused individual, ideally with previous experience in a similar reservations or sales environment. The successful candidate will be a strong communicator, highly organised, and confident working independently and as part of a team. You should demonstrate:

  • Proven success in a similar operational or sales role (essential).
  • Experience using Opera Sales & Catering / PMS (preferred).
  • Strong administrative and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • A proactive, customer-first approach and flexible mindset.
  • Understanding of hotel operations, event planning and group room management.
  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
  • Ownership and administration of all contracted group bedroom bookings.
  • End-to-end management of assigned group enquiries and confirmed bookings.
  • Delivering timely and accurate responses to all group enquiries, adhering to a 4-hour turnaround policy.
  • Ensuring compliance with Group Pricing Optimizer (GPO) guidelines and driving forecast accuracy.
  • Preparing and issuing group contracts, terms & conditions, and maintaining full documentation.
  • Actively up-selling hotel products and services to enhance the guest experience and increase revenue.
  • Conducting professional site inspections and walk-in visits, tailoring offerings to client needs.
  • Liaising closely with clients to gather information, manage rooming lists, and coordinate specific requirements.
  • Working closely with the Revenue and Senior Events teams to ensure pricing aligns with business plans and budgets.
  • Attending internal forecast and funnel meetings, as well as external networking events when required.
  • Supporting the wider Sales and Events team, including passing on relevant leads.
  • Conducting post-event follow-ups with group organisers to gain feedback and identify future opportunities.
  • Supporting accurate system usage and data integrity in Opera Sales & Catering and PMS systems.
