Additional Information: This hotel is owned and operated by an independent franchisee, HEI Hotels & Resorts. The franchisee is a separate company and a separate employer from Marriott International, Inc. The franchisee solely controls all aspects of the hotel’s employment policies and practices, including hiring, firing, discipline, staffing, compensation, benefits, and all other terms and conditions of employment. If you accept a position at this hotel, you will be employed by a franchisee and not by Marriott International, Inc.
The Group Sales Manager at the Baltimore Marriott Inner Harbor will group manage accounts to achieve guest satisfaction and to solicit past and new business to ensure all revenue goals are achieved or exceeded. They will be responsible for soliciting new group sales accounts, entertaining, and maintaining relationships with existing accounts to meet and exceed revenue goals in rooms, food, beverage, and room rental. This position will help in selling the hotel through a total hotel renovation & beyond, building future business in our renovated spaces.
For this role, the following requirements are preferred:
3+ years of past sales experience, ideally in Hotel Sales.
Marriott Hotel Sales & Systems (CI/TY) preferred.
Advanced knowledge of the Baltimore market, market trends, competition, and key customers of the hotel.
Able to set priorities, plan, organize, and delegate.
Must possess computer skills, including, but not limited to, use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and CI/TY. Advanced knowledge of sales skills, revenue management, training, and motivation of peers.
Knowledge of hotel operations, including marketing plans, security and safety programs, personnel and labor relations, preparation of business plans, repairs, maintenance, budget forecasting, quality assurance programs, hospitality law, and long-range planning.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences, such as effectively communicating with supervisors, coworkers, public etc.
