Description:

Fully renovated and part of the Gray Collection, the Metcalfe Hotel has entered a new era.
Reporting to the Director of Sales, the Group Sales Manager will be responsible for developing and managing accounts and overseeing groups and different market segment. Their role will involve maximizing guestroom and food and beverage revenues while providing effective guidance to clients.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 3-5 years’ experience in hospitality sales.
- College diploma in Hospitality (an asset).
- Fluent in English (both orally and in writing), French an asset.
- Excellent sales skills in negotiation, prospecting, presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Knowledge of the Ottawa Market.
- Good organizational, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Strong aptitude for Microsoft Office Suite software and hotel IT systems (Opera, Sabre, Lanyon).
- Strong interest in business development.
Responsibilities:
- Develop business relationships with new and existing account for the markets of groups (10 guest rooms and more) and events.
- Perform site visits, negotiate and prepare sales proposals.
- Maintain accounts, contacts, activities, and contracts up to standard in the hotel PMS.
- Monitor and respond to RFP’s.
- Establish strong business partnerships by ensuring high quality guest service (follow-up, documentation of actions performed, in-depth knowledge of its customer target).
- Process incoming calls, analyze the needs of potential clients and offer the products and services that best meet their requirements.
- Target, solicit and penetrate new and existing accounts in all segments.
- Prospect for new business by conducting outside sales calls and telephone solicitation.
- Conduct account and market research.
- Develop and implement sales action plans to grow market share.
- Participate in any relevant business development activity including trade shows, networking events, community events and more.
- Work and collaborate closely with the different teams of the hotel (accounting, guest services, F&B, catering, revenue management).
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, reporting and various projects as assigned.
- Perform any other tasks related to the position, according to the needs of the team or the company, while respecting the defined priorities and objectives.
