Description
General Summary of Duties: The Group Sales Manager will act as a hotel -client liaison while identifying, developing and maintaining property sales objectives, sales plans, and programs in accordance with the hotel's overall marketing plan and mission statement. Examples of Duties (includes but is not limited to the following):  * Conduct solicitation efforts through effective oral and written communication while managing rate, date and space commitments for room sales within the hotel * Develop and conduct persuasive verbal sales presentations to prospective clients  * Manage all sales systems, lead referrals, and record efforts * Conduct site tours for potential clients * Achieve and exceed individual and team annual goals  * Be fully knowledgeable of competitive markets outside the area * Be fully knowledgeable of the capabilities and limitations of the hotel and departments that may impact sales strategies * Work closely with client after booking to develop good working relationship, including letter of introduction, meeting planner materials, prompt response to calls and requests * Maintain detailed records of discussions with guest, including room accommodations, all meeting setups, food and beverage, transportation, etc. * Upsell to improve revenue generation on property * Respond and resolve guest requests, complaints, or questions in a courteous and timely manner * Maintain and correct procedures for credit control, financial transactions, and security of financial assets * Organize and/or attend scheduled Sales Department and related meetings * Perform additional duties and projects as assigned Position Requirements: * Ability to speak, read, write and understand English * Professional demeanor appropriate for a luxury environment * A minimum of two (2) years of progressive, results driven, hotel sales experience required * Must demonstrate a high degree of professionalism, leadership, time management, attention to detail, and organizational skills * Ability to accurately use various office and accounting software * Must possess strong computer skills, including, but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Excel and CI/TY * Must demonstrate the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously * Must be able to work effectively, without supervision Education: * Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality or related major preferred Typical Physical / Mental Demands: * Must be able to stand walk, sit * Must be able to bend, stoop, crouch * Must use hands to reach, grasp, handle, pull and push * Must have good near and far vision * Must be able to hear and talk
