Job Title – Group Senior Legal Counsel – Employment
Location – Dublin/Leeds/London
Hybrid - 2 days per week(Dublin only)

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Provide pragmatic, commercial, and strategic legal advice on all aspects of employment law including recruitment, contracts, workplace policies, performance management, redundancies, TUPE, inclusivity and terminations.
  • Draft and negotiate employment-related agreements.
  • Lead/ support on employee investigations.
  • Advise on employee immigration matters cross-jurisdictionally.
  • Support the Reward team on all reward related matters.
  • Handle complex employment litigation and tribunal claims, including drafting pleadings, witness statements, and managing settlement negotiations.
  • Support on employment aspects of corporate transactions, including due diligence.
  • Anticipate and respond to new legislation. Update policies, processes, and training materials accordingly.
  • Deliver training and guidance to People teams.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders and colleagues.
  • Support on non-employment law related matters, including drafting, negotiating and reviewing commercial agreements.
  • Handle external legal resource to ensure a comprehensive and cost-efficient legal support to all areas of the Flutter Group’s business.

HOW YOU’LL DO IT

  • We are looking for a qualified lawyer in England or Ireland with 6 years’ PQE. While we are not strictly passionate about PQE, solid experience in employment law, preferably with an international element, is essential.
  • Experience at a highly regarded law firm and in-house experience, either on a client secondment or permanent role, is highly valued.
  • Outstanding communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with people are crucial.
  • Translate legal complexities, discuss legal pros and cons, and challenge senior business collaborators.
  • Understanding Flutter’s business and working in a global, fast-paced sector are crucial, with exposure to gambling or sports being helpful.
  • Being a self-starter with the confidence to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment and handle a varied workload is important.
