Whilst this is a hybrid role it is expected that the postholder will visit and work at the Erith location a minimum of 1 day per week and Colchester a minimum of 1 day per week. The other time may be spent either working from home or at either office location.
KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
· Proven experience as supply chain manager or other relevant role
· Proven experience in managing relationships with key suppliers
· In-depth understanding of market research methods and analysis
· Solid knowledge of performance reporting and financial/budgeting processes
· Good risk management skills

JOB PURPOSE:
The role is responsible for playing a pivotal leadership role focused on strategically managing and optimising the company’s entire supply chain operations. The role’s primary purpose is to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and reliable delivery of products through comprehensive oversight of production, procurement, inventory management, logistics, and supplier relationships across multiple international sites (UK, Vietnam, and Germany).
Additionally, the role involves mitigating supply chain risks, driving continuous improvement and cost savings, and ensuring compliance with group quality management standards (ISO), significantly contributing to the company’s operational excellence and strategic goals as a key member of the board.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Overseeing all aspects of production & manufacturing in the UK including the production planning, releasing of works orders and all quality checking processes
· Overseeing all aspects of procurement for the UK & Germany, purchasing from various suppliers, including setting up contracts, raising PO’s, site audits and everything in-between
· Overseeing all aspects of product storage, handling and distribution in the UK & Germany
· Having full control of stock levels in the UK & Germany, set safety stocks, provide forecasts
· Managing the 3pl logistics provider including uploading sales orders
· Managing the Vietnam suppliers & strategy
· Managing the UK production team, buyer/planner – 6 direct reports, including the full recruitment and staff retention cycle
· Securing year on year cost savings within the supply chain
· Managing and minimising supply chain & production risk
· Assisting with the QMS (ISO) systems and audits
· Strategically expanding, preserving or improving company procedures, standards or policies
· Adhering to regulatory guidelines.
· Identifying and managing commercial risks
· Regularly reviewing a setting pricing strategies and regular price increases
· Proactively de-risking supply chain away from single source vendors
