JOB REQUIREMENTS:

To be successful in this role the candidate will have:

  • Dual purpose COC – Maritime Officer (Maroff) Certificate (Preferred)
  • Extensive experience as Master / CE in harbor and offshore towage as well as experience with AHTS.
  • In depth knowledge of Marine Terminal Operations.
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in the same or comparable position, with Train-the-trainer qualifications or suitable relevant experience.
  • Fluent in English

Responsibilities

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist and advise in the selection of qualified, competent Senior Officers.
  • Develop and undertake simulator assessments for deck key crew to ensure and enhance the required performance – using our own in house Simulator in Singapore, or other globally outsourced simulators approved by SL.
  • Train and induct senior crew as per the SL safety management system to achieve zero accidents and incidents by increasing knowledge and skills.
  • Deliver annual training plans for command assessments and advise and report on training and development needs.
  • Evaluate, improve, develop and implement assessment & training programs for senior crew.
  • Managing the Smit Lamnalco ‘Emergency Response Training for LNG support craft’ Training and providing the training both internally and externally.
  • Continuously collect feedback from internal and external customers and improve / update the training plan accordingly.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to the contract locations and head office with regards to towing related matters such as tow gear selection, reviewing procedures and proposing best practice methods.
  • Scout high performers amongst the crew and propose them for promotion or COC-upgrade sponsorship program.
  • Undertake vessel audits as defined in the SL safety management system related to ISO, ISM and other relevant regulations.
  • Provide reports on vessel and crew performance as requested.
  • Conduct fleet visits with the purpose of gathering information and experience that will be used to plan training.
  • Attend new contract start up projects, to support, train and advise Crew and Local Management on best practice vessel operations.
  • Support the annual Senior Officers Conferences, providing training presentations based on the Conference Agenda.
  • Liaise with internal departments on best practice improvements to improve the overall quality and training support to Senior Officers.
