POSITION OVERVIEW

As a Grouter/ General Labour, you will be a part of the drilling team and be responsible for installation and grouting of HDPE loops along with the day-to-day operations of the jobsite that is assigned to you. You will be responsible for setting and upholding the standards of safety, quality and performance as defined by your supervisor, leading your team by example. You will always represent yourself and our company with the utmost professionalism and respect for our clients and project partners at all times.
The ideal candidate will assist in various tasks related geothermal operations. This role requires a strong work ethic, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. As a Grouter, you will play a crucial role in supporting our operations and ensuring the smooth execution of projects.
You will report directly to the Drilling Manager and/or Site Lead, or such other person(s) as The Company may designate from time to time.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Willing to travel anywhere in Ontario and North America. Majority of work is within the GTA.
  • Work extended days and overtime as needed, including up to 6 days per week and 12 hours per day during peak construction season; work will be on a rotating schedule at the discretion of your Supervisor (i.e. 4 weeks on, 2 weeks off).
  • Work independently or in a team-based environment.
  • Work outdoors in the elements and in all weather conditions.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Experience or knowledge in construction, drilling/ grouting is preferred.
  • Familiarity with geothermal drilling, shoring or oil and gas industry practices is beneficial.
  • Ability to operate forklifts, skid steer and/or telehandler safely and efficiently.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Strong teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with construction operations, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and operational standards.
  • Perform all duties required for the fusion and installation of HDPE pipe on each site, while maintaining the highest standards with regards to safety, workmanship, performance, and efficiency.
  • Perform all duties required for the safe and efficient installation of geothermal boreholes, including but not limited to operating and maintaining a Pressure Grouter, Drill Rigs, Loop Reels, Excavators, Skid Steers, Generators, etc.
  • Maintain each site with the highest of standards with regards to safety, workmanship, performance, and efficiency.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and follow all specifications within.
  • Operate any grouter and associated installing equipment assigned to you with any and all support equipment and tools that are required for the operation of said grouter.
  • Operate and maintain company vehicles and construction equipment, including but not limited to Company trucks, Drill Rigs, Grouters, Loop Reels, Excavators, Skid Steers, Generators, etc.
  • Diligently maintain any and all documentation and reporting pertaining to the project, including but not limited to, daily safety documentation, grout logs, drilling logs, and inventory logs.
  • Collaborate with team members to build structures or setups required for drilling operations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, ensuring all tools and equipment are stored properly.
  • Assist with managing site expenses, budgets, material lists, site needs and requirements.
  • Follow instructions from supervisors and/or site lead and contribute to the overall efficiency of the team.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor, site lead or other managements team members.
