We are growing our Coastal & Maritime teams and are now seeking a Growth & Markets Lead to join our APAC team. This is a pivotal role for a professional with strong commercial instincts and the ability to inspire teams to deliver smarter, more strategic outcomes. You will play a key role in identifying and growing work opportunities with new and existing partners, building on long-term relationships, and continuing BMT’s reputation as a partner of choice in the coastal, marine, and maritime sectors. This role can be based in any of our Australian offices, with a preference for Brisbane or Perth due to team alignment.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role you will:

  • Drive commercial success across our Coastal and Maritime Environment Programme by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
  • Cultivate trusted, long-term relationships with key clients to expand our influence and secure high-value work.
  • Lead growth for in port development, marine infrastructure, and nature-based coastal resilience areas.
  • Collaborate with technical leads and subject matter experts to develop compelling proposals and strategic partnerships.
  • Contribute to BMT’s broader leadership community, providing commercial insights and helping to shape strategy and market innovation.
  • Inspire and guide teams to achieve high-impact outcomes across complex, multidisciplinary work, ensuring a strong focus on customer excellence.

To be successful in this role, you should:

  • A proven track record of winning work and influencing clients at a senior level, especially in complex or multi-stakeholder environments.
  • 10+ years of experience in coastal or maritime engineering, marine environmental consultancy, or related programme leadership roles—ideally within a technical consultancy or project environment.
  • Strong commercial acumen, able to identify new opportunities and balance client needs with long-term value creation.
  • Strong leadership experience, including the ability to build and develop a high performance culture across teams.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in engineering, environmental science, or a related field
