Growth Officer
About Us:
Growing Greater Miramichi is an economic development division of the Greater Miramichi Regional Service Commission. We are passionate about building a strong, thriving, and future-ready region—by supporting local business, attracting investment, and enhancing workforce and community capacity.
We’re currently looking for a Growth Officer to help lead this important work.
Your Role:
Reporting to the Director of Regional Economic Development, the Growth Officer will support the development and delivery of strategic initiatives that grow local businesses, strengthen workforce capacity, and advance regional priorities. You will serve as a connector between communities, entrepreneurs, partners, and opportunities—driving real impact in both urban and rural areas.
Key Responsibilities:
· Serve as the first point of contact for businesses seeking support or expansion advice.
· Help entrepreneurs navigate business planning, marketing, digitization, financing, and other growth services.
· Coordinate business support programs, workforce events, and regional workshops.
· Support community-led economic development projects across the region.
· Facilitate workforce development efforts, including job board maintenance, employer engagement, and partnership-building.
· Track regional data to support strategic planning and promote available resources.
· Represent the region at stakeholder events and collaborate with provincial/federal partners.
What You Bring:
· 2+ years’ experience in economic development, community planning, business support, or a related field.
· Strong relationship-building, facilitation, and communication skills.
· Experience working with rural communities and/or regional partners.
· Proficiency in digital tools and data collection.
· Self-starter with strong organizational and project management skills.
· Post-secondary education in business, economics, planning, or related area.
· Bilingualism (French/English) is considered a strong asset.
· Willingness to travel throughout the region and work occasional evenings.
