Group Supported Employment Team Lead - Shredding - Military Hwy, Norfolk, VA - Enjoy a rewarding and challenging position with a nonprofit organization that has been helping educate, train, and provide employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities since 1955. We are currently seeking applicants for a full-time Group Supported Employment Team Lead who implements individualized employee training/service plans to improve and enhance social and vocational skills; provides and documents vocational training to employees with disabilities; and supports production activities, including job setup, measuring and tracking productivity, and operating equipment. Applicants must have the ability to work Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM - 3:00 PM ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:  The following duties and responsibilities represent the essential functions of this job that an individual must be able to perform with or without a reasonable accommodation:  * Develops and implements individualized employee training/service plans to improve and enhance social and vocational skills. Conducts reviews of individualized plans, completes performance evaluations, and time studies.  * Completes timely and accurate documentation of daily attendance and hours worked, training, and production work in compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.  * Meets production quotas and quality standards by efficiently setting up the production flow, conducting ongoing quality and inventory control activities, and suggesting improvements to better utilize resources, expand operations, or contain costs.    * Ensures that all procedures and safety regulations are followed and promptly reports accidents, critical incidents, and injuries.  * Performs and trains others in the proper use and operation of equipment, including daily preventive maintenance, cleaning, and safety checks. * Operates industrial equipment.  * Drive van to transport individuals to team assignments in the community. * Communicates and collaborates with representatives from other agencies, family members, and others, as needed, for the purpose of developing and implementing individual employee training plans.  * Attends in-service training, meetings, and workshops when requested * Other duties as assigned Note: Duties and responsibilities are not all-inclusive and may change at any time, with or without notice.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions where applicable.  QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, & EXPERIENCE:  The following qualifications represent the training, education, certifications, licensures, and/or work experience required to perform the essential duties and responsibilities successfully:  * High school diploma, GED, or any combination of equivalent education. * Experience in business production preferred * General knowledge of a broad range of disabilities, including developmental disabilities, substance abuse, mental health, and physical or sensory disabilities, and best practices to support employment of individuals with disabilities * Ability to conduct 1-on-1 or group training * Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective professional relationships * Clearance through criminal background investigation and pre-employment drug screening required * Acceptable driving record required * Effective use of technology and information systems, including, but not limited to, Microsoft 365 PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:   Physical demands: Performing the duties of this job requires near visual acuity, the ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds, and gross manipulation. Additionally, the employee:  * Must be free of tuberculosis in a communicable form * Must be able to lift/move 15-58 pounds and withstand prolonged hours of standing and walking  * Must be able to bend through a full range of motion, lift, stretch, climb, and crawl Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will primarily work in a warehouse setting, with exposure to dust and other potential allergens.
