An All-Star Music Festival Director is responsible for supporting all musical aspects of the All-Star Music Festival as it pertains to the Elementary Choir (grades 3-5). They work closely with the All-Star Music Choir Director and Leader to ensure they (the Guest Choir Director) has what they need to lead and assist the musical rehearsals on March 27. RESPONSIBILITIES: Review the musical selection for auditions and performance Meet occasionally with the All-Star Music Choir Leader and Director to understand their specific responsibilities on the day of the Festival Design and direct the musical practice sessions as requested by the Choir Leader and Director ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: Education & Credentials: Strong Musical Expertise: Deep understanding of choral/instrumental technique, musical interpretation, and ensemble balance across a range of styles and genres appropriate for the festival Experience working with elementary students (dependent upon assigned area) Conducting Proficiency: Demonstrated experience in rehearsing and conducting large student ensembles efficiently, with clear conducting technique and expressive leadership. Rehearsal Planning & Management: Ability to structure rehearsals that are engaging, productive, and developmentally appropriate for student musicians, with strong pacing and clear musical objectives. Essential Skills: Strong Interpersonal & Team-working Skills. Creates a warm and encouraging atmosphere to guide students and help them perform at their best. Flexibility & Problem-Solving: Ability to think on your feet and adapt plans as needed to handle real-time challenges during festival preparation and day-of logistics. Student-Centered Mindset: A commitment to creating a positive, safe, and inclusive environment where all students feel valued and supported. Positive and Inspiring Leadership: Skill in motivating and engaging young musicians in a way that fosters growth, confidence, and musical excellence. Responsibilities
