Guest Services Agents are one of the first employees that greet our guests setting the stage for a memorable hotel stay. With this expectation we are looking for a warm, professional, and welcoming individual who can embody the service levels we strive for.
The role is also the key communications hub for the hotel. You will be expected to lead the communications during your shift through the hotel to prioritize and guest and operating needs throughout the hotel.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of Front Office Operations, and proficiency in all areas.
  • Ability to professionally deal with all guests in all circumstances.
  • Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to multitask in potential high volume area.
  • Ability to “WOW” guests with anticipatory service, seeking to exceed the expectations of each guest through personalized service, and strong teamwork and execution.
  • MUST be a team player and able to work seamlessly with every department in the hotel to achieve exceptional service.

EMPLOYMENT CREDENTIALS REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous hotel experience required in a similar role.
  • Hotel experience in a similar class of hotel strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Victoria required, with respect to making appropriate guest recommendations for activities, attractions, and restaurant recommendations.
  • OPERA PMS experience preferred.
  • Valid BC driving license or legal ability to drive in BC is an asset for this role, and candidates who have this skill may be prioritized.
  • Post-secondary education in hospitality or tourism studies an asset
  • Current ability to work legally in Canada, and start work in Victoria, BC is required. Candidates who cannot satisfy this will not be considered at this time.
    Job Type: Permanent
    Pay: $23.00-$26.45 per hour
    Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week

Responsibilities
  • Greet and welcome all guests who travel through the lobby in a warm and thoughtful manner seeking to anticipate guest’s needs and provide service.
  • Answer and direct all incoming phone calls and emails as received in a timely manner.
  • Maintain inventory of vacancies, reservations and room assignments.
  • Provide concierge services for guests.
  • Recording and passing on messages in full, to both guests and other operating departments.
  • Ensuring entire front desk space is welcoming, neat, professional and presentable.
  • Upholding professional, friendly, efficient and effective work composure.
  • Preparing check in and check out documents for arrivals and departures.
  • Parking guest vehicles as required by guests.
  • Luggage assistance as required by guests.
  • Guest room deliveries as required.
