Description Job Title: Front Desk Clerk Location: Border View Lodge Employment Type: Seasonal or Year-Round (Flexible) Reports To: Resort Manager Job Summary The Front Desk Clerk is the first point of contact for guests at our Minnesota fishing resort. This role is responsible for providing friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient customer service while managing reservations, guest check-ins and check-outs, and general front desk operations. The ideal candidate enjoys working with people, has strong communication skills, and appreciates the outdoors and resort lifestyle. Key Responsibilities Greet guests warmly and provide a welcoming first impression Check guests in and out of cabins, lodges, and campsites Manage reservations via phone, email, and booking software Answer guest questions about fishing conditions, resort amenities, lake access, boat rentals, and local attractions Process payments, issue receipts, and handle cash and credit transactions accurately Coordinate with housekeeping, maintenance, and dock staff to ensure guest readiness Maintain accurate guest records and reservation logs Handle guest concerns professionally and escalate issues when necessary Keep the front desk area organized, clean, and presentable Assist with retail sales such as bait, tackle, merchandise, or licenses (if applicable) Follow all resort policies, safety procedures, and customer service standards Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred Previous customer service, hospitality, or front desk experience a plus Comfortable using computers, phones, and reservation systems Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented Knowledge of fishing, boating, or outdoor recreation is helpful but not required Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying Minnesota weather conditions Schedule & Work Environment Includes weekends, holidays, and peak fishing seasons Flexible scheduling with part-time or full-time hours available Friendly, outdoor-oriented resort environment What We Offer Competitive hourly pay (based on experience) Employee discounts on resort amenities and merchandise Opportunities to enjoy Minnesota’s lakes and outdoor lifestyle Supportive, family-friendly work atmosphere Requirements Employee Benefits Overview We are proud to offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your well-being and preparing for your future.
