JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a Guest Services Assistant to provide overnight support of the departmental operations and act as a point of contact for residents during the night.
You will be approachable and friendly people person with the willingness support and maintain a close relationship to residents throughout their stay.
This role is a multi-tasking role, and you will be required to be adaptable to ensure that the needs of the residents are always met.
Our hotel is currently operating under a government exclusive use contract, and we are providing our great facilities to residents on a long-term stay basis.

Mercure Dumfries Cargenholm House Hotel is the newest addition to Splendid Hospitality Group’s portfolio, which opened in January 2023. Situated in the serene countryside, Mercure Dumfries Hotel sits 2.5 miles away from the historic market town of Dumfries.

Though this role is based mainly in the Front of House area, as Guest Service Assistant your responsibilities include:

• To operate the premises to the agreed hotel standards
• Ensuring the set-up of the restaurant areas for mealtime
• Maintaining of buffets/drink service areas and clearing/sanitising of tables in restaurant area
• To maintain the reception, food and beverage outlets, public areas, stores, back office and staff areas in a clean and tidy condition.
• Deal with any resident queries/complaints in a polite and friendly manner ensuring resident satisfaction
• Compiling daily log sheet for your particular shift for sending to GM
• To clearly communicate with other departments to ensure minimal impact on guest service.
• At times you may be asked to help in other departments as and where the business requires support.
