This position will commence late August 2025.

The successful candidate will work with students to help them reach their full potential in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme and Diploma Programme. The incumbent will work within a team to ensure that all students at Lauremont School are advised and guided for academic development.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education
  • Ontario College of Teachers Certification with intermediate/senior school qualifications
  • Guidance Specialist qualifications with a minimum of 3 years of Guidance experience expertise
  • University counselling experience an asset
  • Familiarity with Careers course an asset.
  • Demonstrated experience in career counseling and social-emotional support
  • Passion for working with the Middle School learner
  • Independent School experience is an asset
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A current Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Current First Aid CPR, and AED

Responsibilities
  • Conduct individual and/or group counseling sessions with a view to supporting students in their development of social and academic skills
  • Deliver personalized guidance and support to help students navigate social-emotional, academic, and behavioral challenges while fostering their growth and potential.
  • Teach Grades 7-9 Guidance courses
  • Partner with the Middle School Coordinator to monitor social emotional needs in the Middle School
  • Contribute to the co-curricular program
  • Work with the team to support student life at the Upper School
