Hours: Full-time Monday - Friday, 8:00am -- 4:30pm Compensation: Starting Wage $17.13, Wage Range $17.13 - $35.68/hour Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Employee Assistant Program, Employee Discount Program, 401(k) with up to a 4% employer match, Paid Holidays, Vacation and Sick Leave Job Description The Neck Sander completes all stages of the Neck Manufacturing process, ensuring each guitar neck is ready to proceed to the next step of the manufacturing process. They will prepare the neck by cutting, shaping, and sanding the rough wooden surface to achieve a flawless texture, paying careful attention to detail to meet part specifications and uphold the craftsmanship of the instrument. Primary Job Duties/Responsibilities Include: Hand sand the neck to address fine details such as the fingerboard ramp and heel transition. Remove cutter marks, hard lines, and scratches to reach the desired shape and quality of neck. Sand the headstock and heel to remove sharp edges, scratches, dents and other imperfections. Sand the perimeter of the neck, removing tear out and machining marks. Drill out truss rod holes on the top and bottom of the neck and install truss rods into the neck back. Identify the fingerboard type and size and pair it with a neck shaft. Glue fingerboards to the front of the neck. Install filler strips and plugs into the neck according to style. Install dots and side dots with the correct material and into their proper locations. Perform final quality control and cleanup by inspecting the neck for quality standards. Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent One year of relevant woodworking, fast paced production, and manufacturing experience preferred Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: A thorough knowledge of: of a variety of electric sanders, other electric tools and hand tools Able to: stand and occasionally walk for an 8-hour period bend, reach and twist upper and lower body move items up to 50 lbs. stay focused and alert while performing repetitive tasks work at a quick pace while maintaining superior quality standards maintain hand-eye coordination and finger dexterity for an 8-hour period maintain good vision to include close vision and depth perception for an 8-hour period Working Environment: This position does not supervise other positions but may assist in training other employees. It is full-time, onsite, Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The work location for this position is manufacturing and may experience a loud and/or dusty environment. This work area is not temperature controlled and may experience higher temperatures in the summer. This individual will primarily work independently but may interact with team members as needed throughout the day.
